Insomniac Games, the developer of the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, has fallen victim to a cyber attack, resulting in the leak of 1.67 terabytes of data containing thousands of files. This data includes crucial and sensitive information, such as the company’s future plans up to the year 2030, the script and various videos of the Marvel’s Wolverine game announced two years ago, as well as passport photos of company employees.
According to the presentations included in this data leak, which is very disappointing for the developer team, Insomniac Games’ next game will be Marvel’s Venom. A similar experience to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is targeted, with all three characters (Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Venom) being playable in the game. The release date is aimed for the fall months of 2025.
According to other information presented, following the Marvel’s Venom game, Marvel’s Wolverine is expected to be released in the fall of 2026. Toward the end of 2028, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is expected, a new Ratchet & Clank game toward the end of 2029, Marvel’s X-Men in the last months of 2030, and a new IP is anticipated for release in 2031-2032. Since the leaked presentation file is dated July 2023, it is quite current, but changes to the release schedule of these games may occur in the future.
Despite widespread leaks, neither Insomniac Games nor Sony has made any official statements. However, many prominent figures in the gaming industry, including game developers and God of War’s director Cory Barlog, have sent messages of support to Insomniac Games.
