The report also unveiled impressive sales figures for the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty, which has surpassed 4.3 million units worldwide. Notably, the expansion boasts an estimated attach rate of around 20%, signaling strong engagement from the existing player base. With the overall success of the Cyberpunk 2077 franchise, CDPR is leveraging its resources to shift focus towards The Witcher 4, marking a significant milestone in the game’s development.
The presentation sheets from CDPR’s Q3 report shed light on the studio’s diverse ongoing projects, including Phantom Liberty, the Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077, continued support for Cyberpunk 2077, project Sirius, GWENT, The Witcher 3 Next-gen, and the much-anticipated Witcher 4 – Polaris. This marks a pivotal moment in CDPR’s development landscape, with the bulk of their team now dedicated to the new Witcher game.
The announcement reaffirms CD Projekt Red’s strategic vision for The Witcher franchise, with plans for an entire new saga powered by Unreal Engine 5. The studio confirmed the development of a new Witcher saga in March 2022 and has since emphasized its ambition to create multiple games within this narrative.
